In pursuance of the decision of the National Council of reforms the work on the draft of Law of Ukraine on improving the child protection system has begun. In particular, it is about ensuring the realization of their right to reside in the family in secure and well-being conditions, getting qualitative social services at their place of residence and reforming the system of institutional care and upbringing of children.
“In late April, the Plan of Measures on implementing the first phase (2017-2018 years) of the National Strategy of reforming the system concerning institutional care and education of children, which is currently in the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, was prepared. And now the work on the Law, that has to launch deinstitutionalization reform, has begun”- mentioned the Presidential Envoy on children’s rights Mykola Kuleba.
The working group, which is working on the draft law, included the representatives of subject ministries, the Presidential Envoy on Children’s Rights of Ukraine, the representatives of the institutes of civil society and international organizations.
“I hope that together we will be able to have already established a working version of this draft Law until 1st June. I am very grateful to the participants of the working group for active cooperation and useful ideas”- added the Presidential Envoy.
